Hey! I’m Penny and I was surrendered to the shelter in hopes of finding a new home. Things in my family life changed unexpectedly and there was little to no time left for me. Everyone was trying to adjust, the family was heart broken and I was left on the back burner. There was no time for walks, no time for playing, no time for cuddles and I spent a lot of time in my crate. My owners knew they had too much on their plate and that I deserved more. Since coming to the shelter my life has changed. I have lots of people that love me, lots of humans to cuddle with and more toys than I know what to do with. I go for walks with the volunteers and I get to explore the world. Things can only get better from here! I’m house trained, crate trained and I’ve lived with other dogs and children. I haven’t lived with cats before, but have met some at the shelter and I don’t like them. I just want to chase them, so a home without them is best for me. I like going for walks and wished I had more of them in my life. . . hint, hint :) I like meeting new people and I was a good girl for my vaccines and bubble bath. I don’t really enjoy car rides, but I’m sure we can work on that together. I generally hide in my crate during thunderstorms and under the bed when I hear fireworks. When the shelter staff first met me, I could hardly see. I was bumping into walls and had no idea what was going on. It was so sad and made things pretty scary. The vet had to check me out and found that I have an immune mediated panus like condition in both eyes. I have been on eye ointment 1-2 times daily for the past 2 months and have improved so much. It’s amazing all of the things I can see now. I will need to continue this treatment long-term and you and your veterinarian can discuss what is best for me :) I have been also been treated for giardia and I’m asymptomatic!~available for adoption at the shelter~
